A London mosque is facing regulatory scrutiny after sermons published on its YouTube channel allegedly promoted physical discipline of wives and endorsed the execution of people for homosexual acts.

The Hackney Islamic Community Centre, also known as Masjid Daar Al-Hadeeth, has been referred to the Charity Commission after the National Secular Society (NSS) raised concerns about three sermons published online in 2023. The Charity Commission has confirmed that it has opened a regulatory compliance case to assess the concerns.
