California is set to experience life-threatening flash flooding on the same weekend as the Oscars.
The 95th Academy Awards, featuring 14 Irish nominations including Paul Mescal and Colin Farrell both up for Best Actor, is taking place this coming weekend on March 13, 12am GMT.
Californian officials have ordered evacuations in some areas due to powerful storms set to cause widespread flooding across northern and central parts of the state this Friday.

A total of 70,000 people will be effected along the coast due to the Level 4 of 4 warning of excessive rain.
The state previously tangled with deadly flooding in January, as widespread flooding closes two of the state's major roads, Interstate 5 and Highway 1.
CNN reported that as of Thursday, 17 million people are under flood watches as creeks and streams from the Sierra Mountains in Nevada experience flooding from rain and snowmelt.
Several Irish stars such as Barry Keoghan are already stateside as they prepare for Sunday night's awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, which is not expected to be impacted by the flash flooding in the state.
Martin McDonagh's Banshees of Inisherin received nine nominations, subsequently breaking the record for the most ever for an Irish film.
The Quiet Girl is nominated in the International Feature Film category, while Northern Irish short An Irish Goodbye is nominated for Live-Action Short Film.
Normal people star Paul Mescal is up for Best Actor for his lead role in Aftersun.
The awards will be hosted by American TV presenter Jimmy Kimmel. RTE will be showing all the best moments from the ceremony the following day. Oscars 2023 airs at 9.30pm on Monday, March 13 on RTE 2.
