Liel Abada sends Jota six word Celtic exit message after Al-Ittihad big money transfer

Liel Abada has sent Jota a six word Celtic exit message as he wished him all the best at Al-Ittihad.

The 24-year-old was confirmed as the latest name to head for the Middle East in a big money transfer last night after two seasons at Parkhead. Ange Postecoglou originally captured the winger on a season-long loan deal from Benfica before making him a priority signing last summer and shelling out £6.5million on a permanent swoop. The Portuguese side added a sell-on clause and will bank a tidy sum from his move to the Saudi Pro League.

Israeli Abada is another who has been attracting transfer interest in his services with Sporting Lisbon and Ajax both reported to be keen on the 21-year-old. Like Jota, the youngster is no stranger to finding the back of the net or assisting for the Hoops with both making telling contributions in the past two campaigns.

But as Jota gets set for a new chapter in his career, Abada took to social media to upload a picture of the duo suited and booted holding up a Treble winners scarf with the caption: "All the best bro. Love you."

A host of Celtic stars reacted to the news of their former team-mates departure last night by liking Celtic's post detailing his departure alongside a video of some of his best bits. A club statement on his sale read: They posted: "After two seasons with the club, one on loan from Benfica and one on a full contract, Portuguese winger, Jota has left Celtic to join Saudi Arabian club, Al-Ittihad.

"In his time in the Hoops, Jota won two league titles as well as picking up winner's medals in both the Scottish and League Cups.

"Everyone at Celtic Football Club wishes Jota success in his future career."

The news of Jota's exit was quickly followed by the big news that fans' favourite Kyogo Furuhashi has committed his long-term future to Brendan Rodgers' champions by signing fresh terms until 2027.
