Liel Abada 'really happy' at Celtic and in 'no rush' over transfer with focus on Treble

Liel Abada insists he is really happy at Celtic with his full focus on completing the Treble.

Ange Postecoglou's side have already bagged the League Cup and added the Scottish Premiership crown last weekend for the second successive campaign following victory over Hearts at Tynecastle. It means the Parkhead side wrapped up the title with four games to spare with just Inverness standing in their way now in the Scottish Cup.

Abada has picked up most of his match minutes from the bench this season with Jota and Daizen Maeda the preferred two out wide for Postecoglou. The final run in could represent the chance to impress from the start with Rangers at Ibrox next up.

The 21-year-old has netted an impressive 27 goals and provided 18 assists since his arrival in Glasgow and that has made the winger the subject of serious interest from south of the border and across Europe. However, despite the transfer rumblings in the background, the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year nominee is ignoring all talk and keeping his full focus on the big prize by insisting he is in no rush.

He said: “I don’t care about what the newspapers or media says, I just care about how to improve every day, how to get better for the team, how to give 100 per cent.

“I am focused on getting the three trophies and this is the most important thing now.

“I am really happy at Celtic. Everyone looks after me and tries to help me get better. My relationships with the players and staff is very good. So I am really happy here. There is no rush. I have time. Right now we just focus to finish the season strong and this is the most important thing.

“When you play at a club like Celtic, there are a lot of great players, you have a lot of competition. But I am still young and I want to work hard every training session, every game, and help the team get our targets. It is the coach’s decision and, when the gaffer tells me I need to play, I will do the best for the team and try to get our target and this is the most important thing.”
