Lidl shopper explains what time to visit the supermarket to get hold of £1.50 fruit and veg boxes

Lidl shoppers may already know that they can grab whole boxes of fruit and veg for just £1.50 from the supermarket - and a staff member has shared the best time to turn up in order to get your hands on the bargain.

The Too Good To Waste boxes are each filled with 5kg worth of assorted fruits and vegetables, which are still perfectly fine to eat but would otherwise have been thrown away due to daily freshness checks carried out by the supermarket. The reduced groceries can be found by the checkout area - but they tend to be quickly snapped up by savvy shoppers .

But one Lidl customer shared some advice after a visit to the supermarket which was backed up by a member of staff, BirminghamLive reports . Posting in the Scrimping on a Budge t Facebook group, they wrote: "Just a heads up to those who get the Lidl fruit and veg £1.50 boxes.
