Discount supermarket chain Lidl has made an awkward blunder on an advertisement for its new store in West Bridgford.
A new Lidl supermarket opened in Wilford Lane Retail Park on Thursday, February 24, becoming the area's very first discount store, and it has been widely advertised across Nottingham.
While none of us are indeed perfect, including us, an awkward spelling error has been made on a billboard which can be found in Sneinton Road, Sneinton.
It says: " Drum roll please, opens Thurs 24 February. Big on West Bridgeford."
On its advertisement banner in West Bridgford itself, however, it has used the correct spelling.
The error was pointed out in the West Bridgford Community Group on Facebook to the amusement, and disappointment, of those who live there.
Lidl was officially opened from 8am by town crier John Griffiths.
It forms part of a wider £20m retail park scheme which will soon feature a Cod's Scallops restaurant, a drive-thru Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and a Pure Gym.
The site had been unoccupied since the demolition the Berni Inn, the Chateau, in 2011.
Many welcomed the discount store's introduction into the town.
Lidl has been contacted for comment.
