It's third time lucky for newly elected Liberal leader Brad Battin as he sets out his priorities and attempts to unite a divided party after toppling old boss John Pesutto.

Mr Battin is the fourth opposition leader to stump up to Victoria's Labor government after ousting Mr Pesutto in a party room meeting that heralded the return of expelled MP Moira Deeming.
