Liam Payne’s First Posthumous Song With Sam Pounds Pulled From Release: ‘We Will Wait’

Sam Pounds has decided not to release his collaboration with Liam Payne just one day after announcing that he would be releasing the track.

On Tuesday, the American musician took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that he would be releasing a duet he recorded with the late singer before his unexpected death. Now, he’s decided to hold the song — entitled “Do No Wrong” — out of respect for the 31-year-old’s family.

“Today I’m deciding to hold “ Do No Wrong” and leave those liberties up to all family members,” Pounds wrote.

“I want all proceeds to go to a charity of their choosing (or however they desire). Even though we all love the song it’s not the time yet. We are all still mourning the passing of Liam and I want the family to mourn in peace and in prayer. We will all wait. With love Sam Pounds.”

Although he decided to hold the track, Pounds did share a snippet of the tune that Liam sent to him, which you can listen to HERE.

“We will wait,” he wrote.

“Let’s all take our time. We love you, Liam. The family as a whole comes first. Let’s wait.”

Pounds originally announced the release of the track in a now-deleted post on X.

“I pray that this will be a blessing to the world like Liam has always dreamed. I pray angels will comfort you all every day while listening. I pray that this song will be a blessing to RuthBear, and the entire family. I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes.

“I pray supernatural positive healing power will embrace each and every one of you. With love ❤️ let’s all be the blessing.”

Although Pounds initially got positive feedback about the posthumous release, many comments have thanked the musician for his decision to hold off on its release.

Liam Payne passed away on October 16 after falling from the third-storey balcony of a hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aries. Although he died from injuries related to his fall, a preliminary autopsy revealed that he had multiple drugs in his system.

His family, friends and One Direction bandmates have released heartfelt tributes to the late singer following his passing.
