Liam Payne baffled Good Morning Britain viewers with his accent as he had his say on Will Smith hitting Chris Rock at the Oscars.
The world was left in shock as eventual Best Actor winner W ill made his way onto the stage and hit comedian Chri s after he made a joke about Will's wife Jada. Chris, who was there to present the award for documentary feature, remarked his wife Jada, who was sitting next to him, “ couldn’t wait for GI Jane 2.”
After striking Chris, Will made his way back to his seat but looked full of anger as he twice shouted: "Keep my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth." Chris appeared to laugh it off, before going on with handing out the award, but it didn't take long for the incident to spread across social media like wildfire.

And, by the time Good Morning Britain started at 6am, it was all everyone was talking about. Former One Direction star Liam is now predominantly based. in LA and was quizzed after the Oscars on how he felt about the incident.
He told GMB's red carpet reporter: "Will used to live behind my house. I've had the pleasure of knowing his son and daughter very well. We did Men in Black with him.
"Ermmm....I believe whatever he did, he had the right to do. I also think there were three losers in the same fight. He didn't know, being Chris Rock; he didn't want to do what he had to do, being Will Smith and she did nothing, being Jada."
While West Midlands born singer Liam wading in on the row was bizarre in itself, it was his accent that got everyone talking on Twitter. One viewer reacted: "Nothing will convince me otherwise that Liam Payne sent his doppelgänger to represent him and was never meant to be spoken to because that’s the only explanation for that accent."
A second tweeted: "Ffs did the interviewer ask him to do it in a terrible American accent," and another bemused viewer wrote: "1. Why is he at the Oscars? 2. What’s with the accent and finally why WS behaviour isn’t being condemned is blowing my mind!!"
