Liam Neeson slams The View for 'embarrassing' and 'uncomfortable' segment

Liam Neeson has called out The View for making an appearance "uncomfortable" for him after a host revealed their crush on him.

The Taken actor, 70, was appearing on the long-running talk show last week and a segment showcased the "love" co-host Joy Behar had for him.

In the moment, a highlight reel showing the 80-year-old swooning over him on air was shown, leaving Liam blushing.

During his time chatting on the show, Sunny Hostin said: "It's no secret Joy thinks you're the hottest and the greatest ever."

The clip then showed Joy say a number of times how she'd like her "ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson," saying the star's Taken films make her "aroused".

She asked if she was blushing following the video clip, adding: "How embarrassing when they put them all together like that. That was evil, [executive producer Brian Teta]. Embarrassing me and Liam!"

While Liam took it in his stride during his time on the show, he has since opened up on the awkwardness he felt.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the star said: "I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great. They're talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it's an American problem.

"I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion. And then our segment starts and it's just all this BS with Joy and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I've known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn't impressed.

"I'm uncomfortable in those situations, you know?"

He revealed he managed to have an "intelligent" conversation with Sunny following the on-stage interview, but wasn't impressed with how things panned out on air.

"The segment's all about this — oof —thirteen, fourteen-year-old crush, he added. "It's just a bit embarrassing."

Liam was on the show to promote his new movie MARLOWE. Some viewers took to social media at the time to say the chat was "full of silence".
