Liam Gallagher has backed Mayo to win the All-Ireland and has rubbished 'the curse' in a recent interview.
The former Oasis singer appeared on the Two Johnnies podcast and talked all things Mayo with both Liam and Noel having strong links to the county.
Their mother Peggy is from Mayo and Liam has voiced his support for the Mayo footballers in the past.
And Gallagher reckons Mayo will get over the line at some point.
Speaking on the podcast, he said: : “I’ve watched it sometimes but Dublin are always f*****g smashing them out of it.
“I’ve heard about it. I don’t believe in all that b******s. Listen it is what it is mate, if you get beat by the better team, you get beat by the better team.
"It’s one of them f***ing things isn’t it? It’ll happen one day mate. City were s*** for years and look at us now."
Gallagher also revealed he is planning a massive 80th birthday party for his mother next year in Mayo.
He said: "It’s me mam’s 80th next year so I’ll be over then.
“That’s going to be bigger than Knebworth, mate. I’m going to hire the place out, get all the family, all the sisters and cousins.
“That will be good but no, I don’t go over unless we’re gigging really or doing the TV.”
