Liam Gallagher has revealed how his life is catching up with him — and that his upcoming huge Knebworth solo gig could irk brother Noel.
In a wide ranging interview with The Sunday Times, the ex-Oasis frontman also said he’d ‘love’ the Britpop heavyweights to reunite.
But Gallagher jr also said he was happy living and working as a solo artist.
The Burnage-born 49-year-old also said he speaks with mum Peggy, 75, daily, who expresses her sadness that sons Liam and Noel are no longer on speaking terms.
Liam’s third solo album, C’mon You Know, is due for release in May, and will be supported by stadium dates in Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester — and a return to Knebworth, where Oasis had their triumphant 1996 gig which drew in hundreds of thousands.
And revisiting the Hertfordshire stately home could well irritate Noel, Liam said.
“Look, it’s got to, hasn’t it? I’m sure deep down he’s happy, he’s not all bad,” he explained. “But there’s going to be a bit of ‘the f****r’s out and about again’.
“If he was doing Knebworth I’d be livid.”
Although he admitted that the choice of venue may not do much to repair intra-Gallagher-family relationships, Liam did say that he’d love a reunion.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Star went on: “I’d love Oasis to get back together.
“If it happens, it happens — but I’m quite happy doing this.
“We should never have split up, but we did, and this is where we’re at.”
Liam also told the paper that he felt Oasis would have continued ‘until the day we died’.
Since Oasis’ split in 2009, Liam has turned his hand to two major musical ventures.
The first was Beady Eye, which he formed with the remaining members of the group following Noel’s departure, and the second was going solo, with the release of As You Were in 2017.
That was followed up by Why Me? Why Not two years later, with C’mon You Know being his third effort.
It will be released on May 27, with single Everything’s Electric out now.
