Proud Manc Liam Gallagher danced with his fans in the city centre after he headed to record an incredible live music video on the rooftop of the city's Midland Hotel. Rock 'n' roll star Liam took over the rooftop of the historic hotel to film his new music video under sunny skies on Thursday.
The shoot caused such a stir that groups of fans and onlookers assembled around the luxurious hotel on Peter Street in the city centre to see if they could look up to the roof and hear him perform new track Better Days across Thursday afternoon. And Liam did his bit to thank the fans straight after the shoot - by heading down to greet the crowds outside The Midland at around 7.30pm.
Oasis legend Liam headed down to ground level to meet with giddy fans - captured in impromptu videos captured outside the side entrance to The Midland on Thursday night. In the video above, fans are heard chanting "Liam" as the Burnage- raised rocker raises his arms and nods his head.

He then joins them all for a cheeky dance as they bounce together chanting his name, before spending time chatting to fans and posing for photos. A fan who captured a video said: "His energy was amazing really. It was so nice to see his kindness to his fans."
Liam was joined by his fellow founding Oasis bandmate Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs for the video shoot on the "secret" rooftop at The Midland. The roof space has not been open to the public for over 100 years.
And it appears that Manchester certainly did him "proud" during the shoot - perhaps a sign of just how stunning the city looked from up on top of the roof seven floors up in central Manchester on a sunny Thursday.
For Liam tweeted, with typical colourful language, on Friday to say: "Manchester you stole the show yesterday, proud as f***."
Liam had got fans in a frenzy earlier in the week when he revealed his plans to film the new video for song Better Days at a location somewhere "up north". It immediately led fans to speculate he was heading home to Manchester.
Liam had tweeted: "Doing a video shoot up NORTH for new single we’re gonna be on a roof so keep your Roy Kinnears pealed for the sound of the summer c’mon you know LFUKING x" While he then later added: "Sunshiiiiiiine" in an apparent nod to both the delightful weather in Manchester, and the iconic way he sang the word in classic Oasis tune Cigarettes and Alcohol.
Naturally for a music legend like Liam, the location for his latest shoot had to be suitably iconic. And Liam, being a huge fan of The Beatles, will no doubt have noticed the similarity of The Midland's roof with its tall chimneys to the iconic rooftop where The Beatles performed an unannounced gig back in 1969 at the Apple Corps HQ on Savile Row in London.
Bonehead posted an epic photo of Liam up on the rooftop on his official Instagram page on Thursday. Captioning it with famous lyrics from Oasis track Up in the Sky, he wrote: "Hey you, up in the Sky."
The image sees Liam holding his alarms aloft, with the stunning Manchester cityscape as the backdrop. And the clouds were doing their best to look pretty biblical for the photo as well.
The video shoot comes amid exciting times for Liam as a solo artist, with his third solo album C'Mon You Know due for release in May. The 49-year-old from Burnage is also preparing for his biggest ever solo gigs, at Knebworth and also at his beloved Manchester City ground, the Etihad Stadium, in June.
The Midland's rooftop has not been open to the public for over 100 years. But when the hotel first opened in the early 1900s the roof terrace was the place to see - and be seen - for the city’s high society.
Back then, the historic hotel served afternoon tea up on the roof terrace, where men dressed in their finest straw boaters and elegant ladies supped their Earl Grey in full ballgowns and fancy bonnets. Guests at that time happily took seven flights of stairs up to the very top of the hotel to take in the stunning views of Manchester, where a full band would play at musical soirees for revellers.
The hotel is said to be considering different options to use the roof terrace again, after unveiling a £14m refurbishment last year.
