Liam Gallagher has taken another swipe at older brother Noel after calling him both “an angry squirt” and “a sad little dwarf” on social media.
The two siblings have been warring for years and Liam’s latest insults are as a result of his claims that Noel has blocked Oasis songs from being included on his forthcoming documentary Knebworth 22, reports the Mirror. The film is due for release on November 17.
The documentary follows Liam, who returned to the Hertfordshire venue this summer – the victorious scene of Oasis’ two record-breaking 1996 concerts. What triggered the latest spat was a fan asking which of the band’s hits will be in the movie, to which Liam, 50, replied on Twitter: “No Oasis songs as the angry squirt has blocked them, he also blocked the Oasis [song] I sang for Taylor Hawkins tribute, he’s a horrible little man.”
One follower replied mentioning Noel’s recent positive interview, but Liam added: “What he says and does are two different things. He’s a sad little dwarf.”
The online barrage from the singer continued as he claimed the reason why Noel blocked the Oasis songs was: “Coz he’s got little man syndrome.” Liam added: “It’s the only bit of power he’s got left, he knows he’s coasting into the oblivious.”
In a final tweet, the C’mon You Know artist wrote: “You can stop us using the songs, but you can’t erase our memories. Shame on you Noel Gallagher.”
One person who was at the original Knebworth gigs with Oasis was Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, who at the end of last month, revealed he had been given the all clear from tonsil cancer. Arthurs, 57, first revealed details of his diagnosis in April adding that he was taking time out from music and subsequently having to miss Liam’s return to Knebworth in the summer.
He told his Instagram and Twitter followers that his radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments had proven successful. Thanking fans for their ongoing support he wrote: “Update on my cancer; I had a full scan 10 days ago and it’s all clear, it’s gone.
“Thank you so much all of you for the messages I’ve had throughout, you’ve helped more than you know. Thank you especially to the team at @TheChristieNHS, into recovery now and see you all soon.”
