LGBTQ+ community groups can apply for one-off donation of up to £1,500

A new fund being launched in Liverpool will aim to support local community groups with a donation to help them succeed.

TalkTalk is calling on groups that offer support and assistance to the LGBTQIA+ community to apply, allowing them to continue their important work across Liverpool as the city’s Pride celebrations loom.

The Future Fibre Fund is inviting those from Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds to apply for a one-off donation of up to £1,500 per city. The broadband provider explained it can be used “towards supporting a helpline, buying new kit or making an investment into new facilities.”

Bronagh McCloskey, head of public affairs and CSR at TalkTalk, said: “We are delighted to celebrate and support local projects in Liverpool. The pandemic shone a light on the importance of support networks and community groups for everyone, including the LGBTIA+ community, who we are committed to supporting here at TalkTalk. We hope the Future Fibre Fund helps community-led initiatives in Liverpool continue to make a difference as we rollout Future Fibre in the area.”

Community groups interested in applying for a Future Fibre Fund donation need to complete a short application form, available on TalkTalk’s website. The form requests a short summary of the project, what the donation would be used for, and how it will positively impact the wider community. Completed entry forms should be submitted by Monday, July 11, and successful projects will be notified from Monday, August 8. More information can be found online.
