A teenage boy has been stabbed to death in broad daylight at a park in southeast London.
The unnamed 16-year-old was found by police with stab wounds in Fordham Park, on the New Cross and Deptford border, on Wednesday afternoon.
He was pronounced dead at the scene off Angus Street, despite the efforts of paramedics, reports MyLondon.
The incident is said to have occurred on the edge of the park near to Deptford Green School and the Moonshot Centre, which houses a nursery and pre-school.
A cordon is in place in front of the centre, while nearby Evelyn Community Centre is also taped off, according to reports.
Witnesses have described seeing at least 11 police cars, a number of ambulances and a helicopter.
An emergency call had been made at 4.06pm with reports of a fight in progress.
No arrests have been made at this stage, the Met Police said.
Officers had responded to the incident with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A Section 60 Order granting police additional stop and search powers has been authorised for the entirety of the borough of Lewisham.
A Met statement said: "Police were called at 16:06hrs on Wednesday, 13 April to a venue in Angus Street, SE14 following reports of a fight in progress.
"Officers responded with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. A 16-year-old boy was found at the scene with stab injuries.
"Despite the efforts of paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene and his family are aware.
"At this very early stage there have been no arrests. A crime scene is in place and urgent enquiries are ongoing."
