Credit Card and finance giant American Express has promoted Hannah Lewis to head its UK operations
She succeeds Charlotte Duerden, who held the post of UK country manager for four years and will take up the post of UK country manager, senior vice-president and head of UK for international card services. This includes responsibility across the UK consumer and commercial card businesses.
Lewis said: “I look forward to working with our incredible team to continue to expand our customer base and drive growth. I’m also very much looking forward to supporting efforts to ensure our business is an inclusive and welcoming environment for all colleagues.”
Duerden has taken the newly-created role of executive vice-president and chief international customer officer.
Lewis who has been with the business for 14 years was previously lead on UK consumer products, marketing and brand at American Express and will take charge of almost 6,000 employees in her new role.
She has held positions across the consumer, commercial and merchant businesses at the financial brand and will be tasked with further expanding the American Express customer base, leading and evolving its products, as well as strengthening local strategic partnerships.
