Lewis Hamilton sets fire to gearbox of iconic car as F1 fans beg for "Tokyo Drift 2"

Showing his love for iconic cars Lewis Hamilton took the opportunity whilst in Japan to cruise around Tokyo in an R34 GTR and created a cool video for fans.

The seven-time world champion has had a nightmare season on the race track failing to win a race, for the first time in his F1 career. However, in some downtime away from the F1 circuit the star took some time out to drive around Tokyo, with fans begging for the star to appear in the next 'Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift 2' film.

Hamilton posted the video of him driving, what fans believe is an an R34 GTR, in Tokyo on Instagram to his 30.8million followers.

The F1 star posted the video with the comment: " I only like to drive on track, but I make exceptions."

The video is cut together of Hamilton normally driving around Tokyo. The seven-time world champion then finds a secluded car park to perform some donuts in the car. The camera then cuts to smoke coming out of the car's gearbox.

Despite the gearbox continuing to smoke Hamilton continues to drive on through Tokyo. He then adds: "Something is not right with this car man." Hamilton then gives his unseen passenger a fist pump before completing more donuts in the car. He finishes the video by stating: "That was f****** sick!".

Most fans loved the video while one had this messages for any of Hamilton's critics. They said: "All the haters please shush. We respect Japan and Japanese culture and you’re acting like he was running red lights drifting by school kids or something.

"It’s a well edited video of him driving normally mixed with him doing some donuts in a closed lot. I saw the car was worth $250k, well now it’s worth more because he drove it. And if there are any damages, he can pay to have it repaired. I’m a fan of respecting cultures and safe street driving, but you can’t be a car lover and not love this video. Stop it."

Artist and arts director Bosslogic has 2.2million Instagram followers and added: "Would never expect a JDM (Japanese domestic car) here! Lewis confirmed for the next Fast and Furious."
