Lewis Hamilton's net worth, salary and sponsorship deals as he looks to beat Leclerc

Lewis Hamilton is set to return to action this weekend at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and will be looking to make gains on Ferrari's Charles Leclerc after he secured the top spot in Bahrain.

Hamilton doesn’t have too much left to prove. At age 37 he is already, in terms of championships, the joint greatest Formula 1 driver of all time.

With seven championships under his belt, he is tied with the legendary Michael Schumacher for the most titles in the history of the sport.

He has also won more individual races than any other driver with 103, while Schumacher holds 91. Third place is held by Sebastian Vettel with 53.

On top of this, the man from Stevenage also holds 103 poll positions and 182 podium finishes. No matter the metric, it is difficult to see Hamilton as anything less than the sport’s greatest of all time.

He is also the first and only black driver to race in the competition, its youngest champion and a two-time Sports Personality Of The Year winner - he also recently legally changed his name to incorporate his mother's maiden name, Larbalestier.

The man has done it all but yet, is back again for another season and a shot at that elusive eight titles.

Social media posts from race team Mercedes have seen Hamilton feature multiple times and he has been seen helping the team's new boy George Russell get behind his seat.

The team even posted an image of him wearing his leathers and captioned it with "year 16" - so will he return for another season in the hope of securing an eighth title after his nail-biting near-miss last year?

What is Lewis Hamilton’s net worth as he eyes his eighth championship?

Lewis Hamilton is extraordinarily rich - like £209 million rich, CelebrityNetWorth says.

After 15 years racing in one of the most cash-drenched sports out there, and winning seven of them, Hamilton's huge bank balance comes as no surprise.

What is seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton’s salary?

According to CelebrityNetWorth, Hamilton earns around £36 million a year.

Forbes disputes this. The publication’s revered sports rich list puts Hamilton 8th in the world for his total earning in 2021, £6 million behind Roger Federer.

In total, it reports he earns £51 million a year through ‘on-field earning’ - the money he takes home through his sporting pursuits rather than sponsorships, branding or any other kind of revenue stream.

How much does Lewis Hamilton get per race?

If Hamilton earns £36 million per year for his races, this can be divided by the number of races he competes in each year to find what he earns on average per race.

The past few seasons, excluding those hit by Covid-19, have had around 20 races, meaning Hamilton has pulled in around £1.8 million per race.

What sponsorship deals is Lewis Hamilton signed up to?

In 2021, Insider reported that Hamilton holds deals with huge brands including the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Sony, Bose, Puma, IWC and Monster Energy.

Forbes reported that in 2021, Hamilton made a massive £8.8 million through off-field earnings.

Insider also reported he earns almost £15 million more per year than his closest rival, Max Verstappen.

Lewis Hamilton’s incredible property portfolio

The Sun reports that Hamilton has a range of different pads to split his time between.

He has a £32 million Manhattan penthouse with views of the Hudson River and an £18 million six-bedroom pad in west London.

He also has a pad in Monte Carlo, where he spends a lot of his time outside of the motor-racing season.
