Lewis Capaldi might have been crushed when Scotland were knocked out of the World Cup, but he still joined in the fun as England triumphed over Mexico on Monday.
The Scottish singer-songwriter was pictured with pop star Rita Ora at the Marlborough pub in Mayfair when the Three Lions took on Mexico, going on to win 3-2.
As the final whistle went, Capaldi apparently then bought the entire pub a round of drinks.
“Lewis bought every single punter in the Marlborough a drink,” one punter told The Sun .
“Bar staff were instructed to charge all the drinks ordered to him. The tab was almost £2,000 in the end.”
The fan said it was “a massive treat and a really lovely gesture, especially from a Scotland fan… Lewis was a proper legend. As well as buying that massive round he was so sweet to anyone who came up to him.”
The Independent has contacted Capaldi’s representative for comment.
Ora, 35, shared a few clips of the rowdy scenes, captioning it: “NOTHING beats a London pub game EVER… It’s coming home!!! The fact I woke up with my hair clips in and my hair has not moved says. Watch it till the end… trust me.”
The pair took it in turns to sing each other’s songs, before celebrating with the rest of the punters as England won the game, chanting: “Football’s coming home, it’s coming home…”
Ora then shared a humorous last clip of herself later on Monday, seemingly nursing a terrible hangover.
Hopefully Capaldi will have recovered by the weekend, when he is scheduled to headline two massive shows at BST Hyde Park festival.
The Grammy-nominated star was originally announced for one show, but an additional concert was added due to huge demand.
Capaldi is being supported by Conan Gray and Jacob Alon on both nights. He will then travel to Montreux Jazz Festival for a performance on 14 July, and continue with his tour through summer.
