Lewis Capaldi sports new look after causing upset over new 'Wish You The Best' music video

Lewis Capaldi has given fans an insight into his new look as he donned a dark moustache on Monday.

The Scots star revealed that growing the barely noticeable facial hair took him 'six weeks' and even had to to 'colour it in with mascara' to make it visible.

The singer explained his reasoning for the moustache, joking that he's using it as 'a disguise for his own safety' after several videos of kids crying watching his new music video circulated online.

The 26-year-old looked suave in the photos as he posed with his new moustache and pushed his hair back from his face.

In the captioned the post, which saw him pull a number of funny faces, Lewis wrote: "have made too many children cry with my new music video for wish you the best so I’ve decided it’s time to assume a disguise for my own safety (it took me SIX WEEKS to grow this moustache and I had to colour it in with mascara so it was actually visible… I’m 26 years old).

Later he shared the snap to his Instagram story, joking that it could have been his Met Gala look.

It comes as the star has been sharing his reaction to children bursting into tears whilst watching his emotionally charged 'Wish You The Best' music video which stars David Bradley.

The video sees the relationship between an elderly postman and his dog blossom until the man dies, leaving his pup heartbroken.

After scenes of mourning at his graveside, the pooch is welcomed in by a younger postman - until she passes away too and is reunited with her former owner.

Some youngsters have been left heartbroken and shared their reactions in TikTok videos.

Responding to the clips on his own profile Lewis joked in his caption: "I am now making children cry."

He continued: "I feel like my latest music video is emotionally scarring these children and I don't know how to feel cause on one hand it's sad but also at least the song is getting out there."

Lewis Capaldi's Netflix documentary How I'm Feeling Now is now available to stream on Netflix.
