Lewis Capaldi shares real reason behind why he didn't support Lionesses at Euros

Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has revealed the reason why he didn't support the England Lionesses at the Women's Euros this year.

The Bruises singer appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show alongside Euros winner Chloe Kelly, who scored the extra time winner against Germany to bring an international victory back to the English shores. Jonathan started off the segment by asking Lewis: "You're Scottish, right?"

Lewis replied an affirmative yes to this, and Jonathan then asked the big question: "Did you support the England Lionesses during their run at the Women's Euros this year?"

Lewis then said directly to Chloe: " No, and I won't lie to you - I am very honoured to meet you. But, what I found about the Women's Euros, watching the Lionesses, the England women's team excels in such a way that inspired a huge bitterness and jealousy in me.

"It is instilled in me as a Scottish man, in much the same way the men's national team gives me the same feeling. So, it just shows you how far we've come."

This response garnered a large laugh from the audience, and Chloe herself. Lewis just grinned as everyone reacted to his completely honest answer.

Earlier this month, Glasgow Live reported that Lewis had been forced to move out of his farmhouse home, after it turned out to be a "hell hole".

He said: "Ed Sheeran told me to buy this house and it's an absolute hell hole.

"We were talking during lockdown about how I wanted to move out of my parents' house and he went online and looked at this place and it looked great.

"From the outside it is beautiful, there's sprawling hills, there's a lake.

"He didn't realise that it would smell of cigarette smoke and dog. I moved in and I hated the decor, I hated everything about it.

"I did go and see it but I was too eager. I was like, 'that smell of dog and smoke will go away after a while,' but it didn't. We have ripped that place out and it still reeks of dog and smoke."
