A few hundred fans were lucky enough to hear Lewis Capaldi perform songs from his new album and answer questions from the audience as part of an intimate gig in Nottingham. The Scottish singer performed at two shows at The Level, at Nottingham Trent University's students' union in Shakespeare Street, on Monday, May 22, which both quickly sold out.
As well as Nottingham, Capaldi is travelling to four other locations across the UK to hold similar acoustic performances and Q&A sessions. This is to celebrate his new album, and first one in four years, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which was released on May 19.
Once packed into the venue, he star was introduced and began answering questions about his time in America, his new album and he also opened up about recently experiencing writer's block.

The star later performed a few songs for the audience, including some of his new album and fan favourites, such as Before You Go. Unlike his big arena tours, the performances were acoustic and much more low key. The lighting and stage was simple, yet the fans were blown away.
A few fans even gave him teddy bears or hats, which the singer graciously accepted. The whole night was full of good music and his witty, if not, rather rude humour that he is known and loved for.
Before his final song, Capaldi said: "I want to say before I go, it really does mean the F****** world to me that you're all here. Just because I had a first album that did well, there's no guarantee that the second one is going to do well, so the fact that you're still here and still supporting us, and we played at the arena a few months ago, genuinely from the bottom of my heart thank you so much."
