Lewis Capaldi's gig was fuelled by a box filled with 17 Greggs sausage rolls

Lewis Capaldi’s performance at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena was powered by a special gift from Greggs. The brand surprised the Scottish singer-songwriter with a yard-long box packed full of his flakey favourite.

The box came emblazoned with the words ‘ROLL ON THE CELEBRATIONS’ in gold and was filled with 17 of Greggs’ Sausage Rolls. Lewis was delighted with the delivery, taking to his Instagram stories to share a photo with his 5.7 million followers with the caption: “LOVE YA @greggs_offical”.

Lewis is such a fan of Greggs’ sweet and savoury offerings that he’s even done a shift in a one of its shops. In 2019 ahead of Radio 1’s Big Weekend, he stunned fans by turning up behind the counter in one of Greggs’ Middlesbrough shops, looking very much the part in his Greggs uniform and taking to social media to describe his "work experience."
