Love was in the air at Lewis Capaldi’s Cardiff show last night (February 2), as the crowd got to see a surprise proposal on stage from two members of the audience - and thankfully the proposal was a success, prompting the Someone You Loved singer to say: "Sh*t, imagine if you’d said no!".
It was an eventful night at Cardiff International Arena as the award-winning Scottish singer-songwriter also ended up wearing a bucket hat, and getting an invite to a separate wedding from a couple in the audience which he quickly declined. It was mid-show when Stephanie, who according to Lewis is originally from Fife, Scotland and now lives in the Welsh capital, was called up on stage and she clearly was not expecting her boyfriend to pop the big question in front of thousands of people at the CIA.
Lewis said on stage: “Do you know why I’ve brought you up here?”, to which Stephanie replied: “No, I’m going to f*cking die.” He then introduced a man called Sam onto the stage and noted: “He wants to say something to you.”

Sam got down on one knee, and while his words were not quite audible, Stephanie was soon nodding her head in response and before everyone knew it- the couple were officially engaged and the crowd went wild.
And as it was a very quick yes from the unsuspecting fiancee Lewis was also full of enthusiasm after the big moment. He said: “What a beautiful moment. Sh*t, imagine if you’d said no.”
It was Lewis' penultimate show on his UK tour and he'd already turned down one wedding invitation earlier that night, he also said: “Won’t be coming to your wedding either because I’ve already turned down Chelsea and Stephen. But yeah, Sam, Stephanie- a beautiful marriage.”
The crowd whooped in excitement, and afterwards, the couple could be seen taking selfies backstage alongside security members who were helping them make the most of the occasion.
