Lewis Capaldi joined Lorraine Kelly on the ITV sofa today to talk about his new single and he revealed it's about seeing his ex girlfriend happy with someone else.
After the pair spoke about the sad news of the Queen' s passing, Lorraine asked the Scots singer how he has been as he made his musical comeback. The 25-year-old said: "I'm not good, not a great week to release a single! I tell you that!
Lorraine said: "But we still need music, darling! And probably when things like this happen, more than ever, that's when you turn to songs that are comforting. " Lorraine asked the singer what his new single 'Forget Me' was all about and Lewis explained that it was about the feeling he got when snooping his ex on Instagram after she had moved on.
He said: "Well, I was in a relationship with a lady, as I often am, and we split up - that happens a lot as well - and she was moving on and it was like a year later, and I was on her Instagram just creeping and she seemed too happy for my liking! And I was furious! In fact, my blood was boiling, like, what is so good about life after me?
"That you're out here smiling in pictures on holiday with your family, you should be miserable. So, I wrote the song about it but I'm over it now, obviously because I'm talking about it on national television. You know she's good, she's happy and I'm.... I'm ok!"
"I've just been sitting in ma hoose! This is the first time I've spoken to anyone, it's lovely! It's good to be employed again."
Lorraine replied: "Oh, baby!"
Lewis then presented Lorraine with a cheeky present of, in his words, 'seven inches of me' as he handed her a mini vinyl of his new song 'Forget Me'.
And fans took to Twitter to say they were delighted to see Lewis on the sofa, and that he had brightened up their day.
One wrote: "Love how @LewisCapaldi doesn’t take himself or life too seriously. He has a great sense of humour. His music is just a bonus! #lorraine."
Another wrote: " @LewisCapaldi on @lorraine this morning is EXACTLY what the nation has needed." While one penned: "lewis capaldi on lorraine is such a breath of fresh air compared to what we've had on the TV for days."
And one said: "Wasn't @LewisCapaldi exactly what we all needed this morning on #lorraine... A much needed moment of normality and humour after a draining few days of emotion."
