Lewis Capaldi has taken to social media after a fan noticed a striking resemblance between him and new Prime Minister Liz Truss.
Capaldi, 25, who is currently gearing up to launch his comeback single 'Forget Me', couldn't resist responding to his latest hilarious lookalike. The Someone You Loved singer replied after a fan wrote: "Congratulations @LewisCapaldi on becoming the next Prime minister #LizTruss," alongside an older photo of Truss from her campaigning days in the 1990s.
The West Lothian star penned in response: "Why do I look like so many female politicians," - with his tweet racking up 17k likes.
Capaldi is currently gearing up to release his second album three years after his chart-topping debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. Fans absolutely loved the comparison between the new PM and the chart-topper.
One wrote: "Busy week for you with your song release on Friday and becoming prime minister," while another penned: "Thanks Lewis, I can't unsee this, now. Haha. You're much cuter!"
"You’d probably do a better job than half of them bff," joked another. A fourth responded: "The bar for tory leadership is quite low atm"
Someone else penned: "Be the next prime minister, no one would know the difference x," and a sixth said: "weird that we’ve never seen you and nicola sturgeon in the same room together"
The Scots singer is set to release his new track Forget Me on September 9 as he gives fans an insight into his time away from the spotlight. Taking to Instagram on Friday night, the 25-year-old has given fans an update on how he has spent the last couple years. Speaking to the camera, he joked: "What have I been up to all this time? Working away, bought a house, joined the Illuminati.
"Very big for me to get to work with the guys and gals over there. Great bunch. Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, Simon Cowell. Very lucky to go and work with them. I was hoping I would get the call and I did."
