Lewis Capaldi responds to fans who voiced concern over his appearance on stage

Lewis Capaldi has responded to fans who voiced concern for the pop star after his appearance at a recent concert went viral on TikTok.

The West Lothian star was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome (TS) last March and went public with the news in September.

The 26-year-old singer has now responded to fans who voiced concern over his twitches and speculated about his health during his recent performance while on his tour.

Addressing the video he said: "Hello it's Lewis here. I've seen this video here doing the rounds on TikTok and I see a lot of people in the comments concerned because I'm twitching quite a lot."

Mimicking his shoulder twitch, which he has admitted to having Botox injections to help, Lewis added: "I'm doing this quite a lot and look a bit uncomfortable. I've got Tourette's so I'm just twitching quite a bit but it's not an issue in the slightest. I'm absolutely fine.

"It's just that this happens when I get tired, nervous, excited or whatever so it just gets more intense. I'm not doing it now at all because I'm lying in my bed in my pants but this [gesturing to the original video] is at the end of an hour and a half gig and I'm singing in front of 15,000 people.

"So I'm tired and I'm very excited because this whole arena is singing my songs back to me but I'm fine. Thanks to everyone who came to the gig that night. It was incredible."

Worried fans had taken to the comments section of the video which was posted by TikTok user @itslauraamy.

One commented: "Didn’t know he had tics, this is sad as bless him," while another noticed: "I know with tics it's so stressful especially if people see.... but he's so adorable!! I love him."

"All the years I’ve watched Lewis I’ve never seen him this bad. This must have gotten worse recently, from not knowing to noticing all the time now!" penned a third. Another wrote: "Never noticed any tics previously".

This comes after tickets to Lewis' gig in Edinburgh later this year sold out within seconds, leaving many fans heart-broken. The Pointless singer took to his Twitter to say that the tickets for the show were completely sold and he was "lost for words".

He said: "actually properly lost for words 30,000 of ya just sold this out in seconds!!!!! I am your humble king."
