Lewis Capaldi 'rescued' by presenter Nick Knowles during Belfast night out

TV presenter Nick Knowles has shared that he once had to 'rescue' Lewis Capaldi during a night out in Belfast.

While the Channel 5 programme Amazing Railway Adventures with Nick Knowles was airing last night, Nick replied to a fan who tweeted a picture of Nick with the Scottish singer-songwriter.

The picture showed the two of them in a pub in Bangor, just outside Belfast. The pair were both in the area in December last year, and enjoyed a night out together after Nick had been filming DIY SOS, Gloucestershire Live reports.

The fan, Assad Noori tweeted Nick: "Loving the new Railway Adventures! Remember this Belfast adventure from DIY weekend in Bangor?!"

Nick, who often replies and shares jokes with fans on Twitter, replied that he and Lewis both remember the night, having recently bumped into each other once again at the rugby. The presenter added that he had to "rescue him from fans".

Full of praise for the chart-topper, Nick described him as a "top guy" who was "incredibly patient with everyone".

He said: "I do remember that night in Belfast as does he as I found out when I bumped into @LewisCapaldi again at the rugby recently and had a catch up - absolutely top guy - had to rescue him from fans but incredibly patient with everyone."

Lewis sadly confirmed yesterday he had to put his European tour dates on the back-burner after being hit with an illness just hours before performing in Barcelona.

The star failed to make it through sound checks on Friday (March 10) when his voice started giving in due to bronchitis.

After seeking advice from medical professionals, Lewis has postponed all tour dates until he has recovered and is able to be his bubbly self.

Amazing Railway Adventures with Nick Knowles is available to view online on My5 Live or on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 5.
