Lewis Capaldi missing 'home comforts' and 'can't wait' to get back to Scotland as US tour comes to an end

Lewis Capaldi has hinted that he is still struggling with his mental health while he's finishing off his US tour.

The Wish You The Best singer took to Instagram for a Q&A session with fans yesterday, as he detailed how his stateside run of gigs will soon be coming to an end, and made some veiled suggestions that he's starting to find it hard to be so far from home.

It's the biggest ever sold-out headline tour of North America that the young Scots star has ever been on and has seen him perform at iconic locations including Nashville since he's been on the road since January.

"If I'm being honest its a great tour and I've had a great time, but with three more shows left that I am going to give my all for I can't f**** wait to go home," Lewis joked as he wheezed with laughter at the camera.

"I've been on tour since f**** January," he added jokingly when someone asked him when he is next touring.

In another question, when he was asked what his favourite part of being a musician was, Lewis sarcastically said: "Being away from my family and friends and home comforts for such a long period of time."

Lewis admitted he can't wait to get back home as he hinted that his mental health isn't great. (lewiscapaldi/Instagram)

Despite missing home, the 26-year-old went on to share in his usual witty style a blurred image of himself looking a wee bit dishevelled when he was asked how his mental health is doing following his candid Netflix documentary, which was released earlier this year.

In the intimate film, Lewis and his close friends and family opened up on his struggles with anxiety, as well as his recent Tourettes diagnosis.

As he continued to chat and work his way through his fans' burning questions, Lewis also hilariously responded to people who were looking forward to his next album - Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent - dropping on May 19.

"Ever heard of f**** google, you f**** fool," Lewis joked before he echoed the release date, and expressed his anxiety over the album performing as well as his previous one.

He added, when asked if the new record was better than the first, as he giggled nervously: "I think so, but it doesn't look like it's going to sell as well."

Meanwhile, Lewis' intimate ‘Behind The Music’ shows went on sale last week but sold out in a matter of seconds.

The Scots singing sensation will take part in the live events in partnership with independent record stores across the country, to coincide with the release of his new album.

Following the huge popularity of the events, Lewis added a second show at each venue and has thanked his fans for their incredible response in an Instagram post, in which he also hinted at more ’secret bits’ to be announced soon.

He wrote: "You sold them all out like as I refreshed the page at 10am on the dot. very very surreal. Thank you so much who managed to get a ticket for these."

Lewis Capaldi's Netflix documentary How I'm Feeling Now is now available to stream on Netflix.
