Lewis Capaldi has called out vile trolls on Twitter after they insulted his weight online.
The Scottish singer, 26, was branded a “fat c***” in a series of disgusting posts, some of which have since been deleted.
In light of the abuse, the Before You Go hitmaker shared a sarcastic reply to the vile messages, highlighting how it has affected him.
He tweeted: “Some lovely replies here, yes i do struggle with my weight with my mental health and this has made me feel better so thank you.”
Following his response, the music star was met with a flood of support, with one fan penning: “You have a beautiful soul, Lewis.
“Those who make hateful comments need to look in the mirror for no-one is without fault.

“Anyone who hasn’t had an issue with weight or mental health are very lucky indeed. It is an endless battle for many, many people. Take care of No1!”
“NO PERSON should have the right to comment on anybody’s body. Lewis, don’t listen to the nasty nobodies on the internet,” a second commented.
“You are a lovely person with an amazingly talented voice.”
Recently, the singer was faced with negative commentary online after he was announced as one of the headliners of Reading and Leeds Festival.
Capaldi quoted some of the hate he was getting: “‘Reading and Leeds is a ROCK festival what the f**k is Lewis Capaldi doing there… Lewis Capaldi isn’t festival material…”
He then added his own comment: “F*** ye. Dream come true to be one of the headliners for @OfficialRandL next year, see ye there x.”
In October, Capaldi said he felt like he has become the “poster boy” for Tourette’s syndrome since revealing his diagnosis in September, but that he’s OK with it.
The musician opened up about having Tourette’s – a condition of the nervous system which causes people to have “tics” – and the reaction to discussing it online, during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show.
Capaldi told the chat show host: “I do have Tourette’s. I didn’t mean for it to be a big thing. I twitch a lot. My left shoulder goes up and I do this with my head.
“Now I am the poster boy for Tourette’s. I’ll take it, I’ll gladly accept that.”
