Lewis Capaldi announces extra Edinburgh date and special guest for sell-out gig

West Lothian's Lewis Capaldi has announced an extra date for his homecoming Edinburgh gig after tickets sold out in seconds.

His arena tour kicked off in Glasgow earlier this year before he went up and down the country ahead of the launch of his new album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which will be released on May 19.

So far fans of the Forget Me singer have taken to social media sharing clips his tour, with many noting how it's like a stand-up comedy gig as well as a concert.

For those who missed out on tickets at the Royal Highland Showgrounds on September 1 will be overjoyed to see that a new date for August 30 has been announced. Tickets will go on sale from February 17 at 9am.

Lewis won't be on that stage alone as Brit winners McFly will be joining him as special guests on August 30 and September 1 in the capital city.

The Pointless singer is currently travelling up and down the UK before heading across to Europe to kick off his European tour in Vienna on Valentines Day. He will then head to the US, Australia and New Zealand before returning home for his show at the Royal Highland Centre.

When his Edinburgh gig date first went live, 30,000 tickets sold out in seconds. The singer took to Twitter and said: "Actually properly lost for words. 30,000 of ya just sold this out in seconds!!!!! I am your humble king."

After he was inundated with fans begging him to add another date, he announced his schedule was too packed to fit in any more. However, the humble king has delivered and general on sale will start from 9am on Friday February 17 via Gigs in Scotland and Ticketmaster.
