The 26-year-old previously spoke out about it saying he was now learning to live with the condition, making the decision to go public to avoid fans thinking he was "taking cocaine or something" - something many online wrongly accused him of.
According to Tourettes Action, Tourette Syndrome (TS) is an inherited neurological condition affecting one school child in every hundred and is more common amongst boys. Over 300,000 children and adults are said to be living with the condition in the UK.
The NHS state that there is no cure however treatment options can help manage an individual's symptoms as the syndrome can cause a person to make involuntary sounds and movements called tics.
It comes amid the success of his Netflix number one - which is still sitting at prime position on the streaming platform with the Glasgow-born singer himself taking to Instagram to show off the impressive achievement.
It has gone down a treat with fans, including many celebrities, all praising Lewis for opening the doors for taboo discussions surrounding mental health and Tourettes.
Praising the singer for his emotional openness, one said: “Lewis Capaldi documentary is awesome, so emotional to see his struggles, top talent, deserves his fame."
Another added: "That Lewis Capaldi documentary on Netflix is one of the realest and best things I’ve seen, what a guy btw"
"Just watched the Netflix documentary on Lewis Capaldi. What a lovely, lovely, lovely lad. He's put himself under so much pressure and suffered because of it. His mum and dad are such good people too. He's got such a good voice. Sorry I'm gushing - watch it." tweeted a third.
How I’m Feeling Now is streaming on Netflix.
