THE amount of abuse the SNP’s newest MP, Lara Bird, has faced has been branded “outrageous” by her predecessor.

Bird – who won the Arbroath and Broughty Ferry by-election for the SNP in June – has become a focus for attacks from political opponents who took issue with her crossing her fingers while swearing the MPs’ royal oath.
