Let’s go girls: Shania Twain announces third Las Vegas residency

Shania Twain has announced her third Las Vegas residency to take place at the strip’s iconic venue Planet Hollywood.

The top-selling female country artist of all-time on Tuesday announced the Shania Twain: Come On Over residency.

The show, which promises fans “all the hits”, will open at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on May 10 next year. It is set to run until December 14.

Five-time Grammy winner Twain said: “I am excited to be returning to Vegas for my third residency Come On Over, performing in Vegas is a huge honour and I love this theatre.

“The audience can expect all the hits with a few fan favourites from the new album in there too. I am in a celebratory mood and there is nowhere better to party than Vegas so I hope you all join me!”

Twain, known for hits That Don’t Impress Me Much and Man! I Feel Like a Woman, and her team also announced that one dollar from every ticket purchased will be donated to her charity – Shania Kids Can – which works to “relieve the economic, social and personal sufferings of children”.

In a few weeks time, Twain will release a diamond edition of her 1997 third studio album Come On Over in celebration of its 25th anniversary on August 25.

Later this year, the singer is set to continue the second leg of her Queen Of Me tour in September in the UK and Ireland, after releasing her sixth studio album of the same name.

The news comes just weeks after Kylie Minogue announced she was following in the footsteps of Adele and Celine Dion with her first Las Vegas residency.

The Australian singer, 55, will be the first headliner for nightclub Voltaire, a new venue at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, with performances due to begin on November 3.

She said: “The spirit of Voltaire is one of pure, authentic fun. It’s one I resonate with as a pop artist. My new album Tension is all about the space where the intimate and universal come together and Voltaire represents just that.”
