MUMBAI: Following the "below average" rating by the ICC of the Chinnaswamy Stadium pitch in Bengaluru, which was used for the second Test between India and Sri Lanka earlier this month, veteran administrator and former Board secretary Niranjan Shah feels that the BCCI must "stop the practice of sending its own curators for international games in India."
"Unlike the local curator, a curator who comes from outside has no idea about the local soil, weather, what suits the pitch or not. In the case of Bengaluru, it's completely unfair that the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) will suffer the consequences of what essentially is a mess up caused by the BCCI curator. The BCCI must pull up its curator who went to Bengaluru before the Test," Shah, who was the secretary of the Saurashtra Cricket Association for almost four decades, told TOI from Rajkot on Monday.
