Less than 10,000 fresh Covid cases in West Bengal, positivity at 12.6%

KOLKATA: Bengal recorded 9,154 cases on Friday, the second time in the last few days that the new case-load dipped below 10,000.

On January 17, there had been 9,385, but only 35,515 tests; Friday’s figures came after a day of 72,738 tests, bringing positivity down to 12.58%.

Kolkata saw new cases dip to 1,375, the lowest this year.
