Leonard Fournette’s first impression of Buffalo: ‘colder than a penguin [expletive]’

Leonard Fournette has spent his football career in warm weather locales.

He grew up in Louisiana and played his college ball at Lousiana State. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he spent three seasons. When the Jags released him he wound up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who delivered him a Super Bowl ring across three more years of churning, bruising runs. By my count, he’s only played seven road games in outdoor stadiums in cold weather cities over his career.

So when he signed with the Buffalo Bills on Halloween, he was volunteering for a wildly different experience than he’s used to. It only took him two days as a Bill to complain about western New York’s weather — and it’s only November, where the high is a reasonable 46 degrees fahrenheit. Fortunately, he seems to have a healthy sense of humor about the lake effect and skin-cracking wind chills yet to come.

The language below is slightly NSFW, but delightful nonetheless.

Fans appreciated his frankness … and had some tips for the guy who’s already freezing and it’s barely even November.
