On the same Ireland team in Rio for the 2016 Olympics, Leona Maguire and Seamus Power have burst into the world's top 50 on the back of superb form over the last 18 months.
Maguire has enjoyed watching the rise of her friend from West Waterford, with both of them making massive strides in 2021.
With Power getting off to a fast start to this season, Maguire will be keen to follow up.
"Seamus has had an incredible last year and a half, he’s obviously had huge momentum," said the Cavan woman.
"Last year we were texting back-and-forth but leading up to his win, I was doing well and he was doing well and we were just delighted to see each other doing well, I suppose.
"We were in Rio together and I suppose the big thing to take away from Seamus is, that’s golf - he went from 400 and something in the world into the top 50 and he probably isn’t playing all that much different."
Power will be disappointed to have finished in 14th place in The American Express tournament on Sunday after a nightmare start to his final round, but it moved him ahead of Shane Lowry into 47th in the world rankings.
Maguire remarked: "He’s just got a few more opportunities and made the most of them.
"That’s massive in golf, massive in sports and in life.
"It’s being ready to take those opportunities and it’s fantastic to see Seamus up there on the leaderboard week in, week out with the best players on the PGA Tour.
"He probably isn’t getting the credit he deserves for the golf he is playing."
