Lena Dunham's husband Luis Felber has claimed that he didn't know who she was when they first met despite her global fame.
The Girls star tied the knot with Luis in September after a whirlwind romance that saw them getting hitched after knowing each other for just 11 months.
The pair got married in a surprise ceremony in London on September 25 and now the actress has opened up about their romantic fairytale in a new chat.
However, Lena reminded her fans to remember that not everyone should get hitched so quickly as she chatted to The Times.
She said: "We got engaged after four months and married after seven months, which is not something I recommend to everybody but it worked for us."
The couple then revealed how they had gone on their first date after being set up by mutual friends in February 2021.
Luis then admitted that he "had to Google her" as he wasn't sure who she was despite having heard of Girls.
Clearly smitten by his he went on to describe her as a "timeless beauty" confessing that he got 'lost in her eyes" the first time he met her, with Lena describing her beau as "beautiful-looking in a vampiric, 1800s way."
As the loved-up couple heaped praise on one another Lena admitted that Luis had accepted and supported everything about her -
including her health issues and her pre-planned adoption application.
She said: "I knew this relationship was different because at every stage when there was something that could potentially deter him, he met it with total enthusiasm."
Luis meanwhile cited Lena's listening skills as a reason why he fell for her and revealed that she had told him after their first date lasted an impressive 12 hours that they were "in each other’s lives forever from that day."
Luis then described their wedding and emotional exchange of vows as he called it the "best day of my life."
The couple wed underneath a makeshift chuppah at Soho's Union Club, having planned the day in just one month.
Lena wore three dresses custom-made for her on the day by designer Christopher Kane and her close female friend Taylor Swift served as one of her bridesmaids at the intimate bash.
The icon had nine bridesmaids on the day as well as Taylor including Tommy Dorfman, Alissa Bennett, and her sister-in-law Alma-Kori Felber.
Elsewhere at the ceremony the couple had 60 guests, seven different wedding cakes including the main cutting cake and six smaller versions, and performed their first dance to This Will Be Our Year by the Zombies.
Lena then confirmed the couple's plans for the future adding: "For now, we’re enjoying our first few years of married life but I’d still really like for us to adopt and have a family and a big pen of rescue pigs."
