Leigh Wood did the double over Josh Warrington on Saturday, easing to a points victory over his bitter rival in Nottingham.
More than two years after Wood stopped Warrington, in a fight that he was losing on all three scorecards, “Leighthal” made it look easy in the rematch.
Securing scores of 119-109 ,119-110 and 117-111, Wood was a comfortable winner in his hometown, while Warrington appeared frustrated throughout, struggling to close range effectively on his relaxed foe.
There was speculation that either of the former world champions could retire after the final bell, but Wood refrained, and Warrington insisted he would not make any rash decisions. Still, the “Leeds Warrior” admitted: “There was just something off tonight. I can’t keep on coming out here, people spending their hard-earned money, and I’m not giving f***ing absolutely everything.”

“Josh Warrington and Leigh Wood fight on Saturday in Nottingham, in a long-overdue rematch and a fight that other domestic rivalries should be measured against.
