Leicester receive £19m Youri Tielemans offer from 'mystery club' amid Arsenal transfer decision

Arsenal may look to accelerate a move for Leicester star Youri Tielemans after the Foxes received a £19million bid from a 'mystery club' for the midfielder.

Tielemans has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium all summer and now looks set to be on the verge of a move away from Leicester. football.london understands the Gunners are prepared to wait until next summer to sign the Belgium international on a free transfer when his contract expires, having agreed personal terms with the player months ago.

Arsenal could look to bring those plans forward to this summer should a rival team make a move to sign the 25-year-old, valued at around £25million by the Foxes. Following injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny, Mikel Arteta's midfield options are now looking a little light with just two days left of the summer transfer window to sign reinforcements.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with making a move for Tielemans ahead of deadline day, with both clubs now searching for midfield reinforcements after suffering a significant amount of injuries in that area of the pitch. According to Football Insider, Leicester have received a £19million offer for the 25-year-old from a 'mystery club' with just 48 hours left to go in the transfer window.

Whilst this could suggest a rival team has made an offer for the Belgian midfielder, it could actually turn out that Arsenal have made a late move for Tielemans after agreeing personal terms with the player earlier this summer. The Leicester star can play as a no.6 and no.8 which would offer cover and competition for both Partey and Granit Xhaka in Arsenal's midfield.

Tielemans registered a total of 12 goal contributions in 50 appearances for the Foxes last term but has shown no signs that he is willing to sign a contract renewal at the King Power Stadium with interest growing in the player from rival Premier League clubs. The 25-year-old is yet to score or assist so far this season with Leicester having been unable to bring in many signings due to their financial situation, however this is set to change when Wesley Fofana's £80million move to Chelsea is completed.

Mikel Arteta is keen to add one or two more signings to his squad before the transfer window closes, and the club look set to try and meet the Spaniard's demands in the next 48 hours. Technical director Edu has shown this summer he will only negotiate deals that are necessary and represent good value for the Gunners, and given Tielemans' age, potential and quality, surely Arsenal will look to make a move for the Leicester star before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday, especially if a rival team has bid for his services.
