An early preview of LEGO Horizon Adventures showcases how it takes the magical world of blocks and mixes it with the robotic creatures of Aloy's franchise.

Some have absolutely enjoyed what the game has to offer in the demo version. However, others were a little bit more cautious with their praise. More and more games are taking their chances of collaborating with LEGO to attract a bigger fanbase.

The question of which intellectual properties are a good fit for this kind of strategy sometimes gets raised as well. Even players who loved the Horizon series have wondered whether or not they should have been put in the LEGO world in the first place.

Some players argued that LEGO's comedic and fun gameplay foundations sometimes collide with the Horizon franchise's characters and lore.

The two games often find themselves clashing with their kid-friendly and adult-oriented storylines, according to Game Spot.

Despite this, many people still found joy in the combination of these two seemingly unrelated franchises into one game package. LEGO Horizon Adventures follows in the footsteps of many popular franchises going into a block form to get a fresh perspective.

Other games that have done this include Batman, Indiana Jones, and Marvel-based franchises and titles. What makes LEGO Horizon Adventures different is that it actually strays off the usual formula to try and make something new to spark new interest.

Some players even described LEGO Horizon Adventures as not actually feeling like playing a LEGO game but only one that takes on its form. People have suggested that this could be because Guerilla Games and Studio Gobo are handling development, IGN said.

A Fresh Take on LEGO

One feature in LEGO Horizon Adventures some fans of the Horizon franchise absolutely enjoyed is the co-op function. Some have questioned for a long time why Guerilla Games never added such a mechanic to their series.

People argued that working together with friends in fighting robotic dinosaurs felt very rewarding and immensely fun. Some speculated that the developers did not do this in the original franchise because they wanted players to focus more on the games' stories.

LEGO Horizon Adventures starts out nearly identical to the original Horizon Zero Dawn in showing Aloy's backstory. However, it adds a layer of comedic perspective with various jokes that make the story a little bit more lighthearted.

The game sometimes makes jokes about Aloy having too many Focus devices than what the plot actually demands from her. There were also some jokes that showcased the narrator of the game arguing with characters, according to Gaming Bible.
