Legendary rock band signs for new residency off Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas has built its reputation as the world's entertainment capital through the perpetual bookings of sensational headliners packing the hotel-casino theaters along the Strip.

Some of the biggest names in music are performing on the Strip over the next month, including Garth Brooks at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, REO Speedwagon at the Venetian Theater at the Venetian Resort, Bruno Mars at Dolby Live at Park MGM Las Vegas, 50 Cent at PH Live at Planet Hollywood, Duran Duran at BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau and Janet Jackson at Resorts World Theatre at Resorts World.

When Elvis Presley opened the then-new International Hotel just off the Strip on July 2, 1969, the King of Rock and Roll's engagement would become the longest-running sold-out residency in Vegas, as he performed 636 sellouts through his final performance in Las Vegas on Dec. 12, 1976.

The hotel-casino had been renamed the Las Vegas Hilton during Elvis' residency and was eventually reflagged as the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino in 2014 long after Elvis' death.

Legendary pop superstar Barry Manilow in September 2023 broke Elvis Presley's record of 636 sold-out shows in the International Theater at Westgate Las Vegas, though Elvis set the original record in just seven years between 1969 and 1976.

The "Copacabana" singer had to perform for over 18 years at the  International Theater to break the King's record, as he began performing in February 2005. Manilow also performed shows at Paris Las Vegas on the Strip, which were not part of the record run.

The 1970s superstar singer might hold that International Theater sellout record for decades into the future, or maybe forever, depending on how long the Westgate hotel and casino remains open, as Manilow recently accepted a lifetime residency at the casino's 1,582-seat International Theater.

More Las Vegas:

Despite Manilow's high volume of performances each year, he is not the only headliner performing at the Westgate. Among the other performers coming to the International Theater over the next year are rock bands Three Dog Night on Jan. 25, 2025, and Cheap Trick on Feb. 1, R&B singer Stephanie Mills on March 1, and soft rock band Air Supply's residency on May 23-24 and Oct. 3-4, 2025.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons returns to the Westgate

Finally, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, with such hits as "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Rag Doll," "December '63 - Oh What A Night" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" performed a year-long, 14-show residency from Oct. 26, 2023, through Oct. 26, 2024, at the Westgate Las Vegas.

Even at 91 years old, Valli has no plans to retire as the "Walk Like A Man" singer and his band will return to the Westgate International Theater with four new residency shows on April 25-26 and Oct. 24-25, 2025.

A review of available tickets on Dec. 9 at Ticketmaster revealed that tickets are available in most areas of the theater for all four shows, ranging from the front row for $175 to the back row of the balcony for $55.
