During his time at KLOS, Michellini hosted the popular 'Power Cuts' syndicated program on the Global Satellite Network and became a beloved figure among listeners. His signature phrases, such as 'How Ya Doin'' and 'Bang the Drum,' were iconic elements of his on-air persona.
Michellini's career in radio began in the Philippines, where he broadcasted on Armed Forces Radio during the Vietnam War. He later transitioned to free-form rock radio in various cities, including Sacramento, San Jose, and San Francisco, before landing at KLOS in 1984.
Known for his rebellious spirit, Michellini clashed with corporate programming constraints but remained true to his unique style. His departure from KLOS in 1994 marked the end of an era for many longtime fans, signaling a shift towards a more contemporary radio approach.
