Legendary Ireland kitman Charlie O'Leary left Liveline listeners in stitches as he spoke about meeting the Pope.
O'Leary was on the show and it was his 99th birthday and was kitman for Jack Charlton and Mick McCarthy.
And O'Leary got to meet the Pope during Italia 90 and recounted the tale.
Speaking on Liveline, he said: "I have the privilege of meeting the pope and the day we beat England in Stuggart I actually seen grown men cry that day, I couldn't believe it. Honest to god I will never forget that.
"What happened was we were inside the auditorium and the team were all dressed up. I'm at the front row standing on a step and Jack Charlton has his arms on my shoulder and just as the Pope was nearly on top of me the President of the FAI at the time and the doctor came and stood right in front of me and that meant the Pope didn't see me.
"Jack then put his arm out and tapped the two of them on his shoulder and they turned around, pushed them aside and pushed me forward and I stumbled a bit and I think the Pope thought I was falling and he put up his arm to stop me and that's how he had his arm around me."
And listeners couldn't get enough of Charlie.
One listener said: "Charlie would put you in good form #liveline He should be a regular feature"
While another said: "Charlie is some man for one man."
