'Legend!': Chelsea fans praise Moises Caicedo after Real Madrid transfer admission

Chelsea fans have said the same thing after Moises Caicedo pledged his future to the club amid reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

Caicedo has a standout performer for Chelsea this season, playing a pivotal role in their impressive form during the early part of the campaign which had the Blues in Premier League title conversations.

The midfielder continues to be a regular in the side under new head coach Liam Rosenior - who replaced Enzo Maresca at the beginning of the year - but speculation over his future rumbles on.

Real Madrid have been tipped to make a move for the Ecuador international, though Caicedo has moved to distance himself from such rumours.

Speaking to El Chiringuito TV, Caicedo said: "I'm focused on my club right now. I have a contract with my club, and I want to do well.

"I want to be a legend, God willing. And well, that's all for now."

This response has garnered a big reaction from Chelsea supporters on social media, some of which are insisting Caicedo has already unlocked legendary status by providing reassurances over his future.

Caicedo’s response comes after team-mate Enzo Fernandez has cast further doubt over his future in west London.

He told ESPN Argentina: “There are no talks. Right now I'm focused on Chelsea, we'll see after the World Cup.”

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior, though, remains adamant that Fernandez is happy at Stamford Bridge and is not angling for a move away.

“I have a very, very good relationship with the players because we speak all the time,” said Rosenior.

“Not just about football, or the situation with their contracts, but about their life, with their kids, how their kids are, how school is. I have a very, very close relationship with Enzo and with the other players.

“In terms of contracts and where they want to be, there's not one player at this club since I've been here that has said that he doesn't want to be here in the summer.

“In fact, the conversations are more about how we improve, what we can do as a group to improve, what we need to do to win in this moment. And that's where we are at the moment.”
