Legal battle in sex abuse naturopath case

Police are seeking to stop information about a separate court case entering the brief of evidence against a Sydney naturopath accused of child abuse.

Savannah Daisley, 45, faces four counts of aggravated sexually assaulting a boy aged 14 to 15 in late May.

Prosecutors have served parts of the brief of evidence on Daisley's lawyers but a Manly magistrate on Tuesday was told police were seeking to set aside a subpoena concerning information sourced from a different case.

The court was not told details about the other case, whether Daisley was a victim or offender or who issued the subpoena.

Her lawyer agreed a hearing to settle the subpoena issue should be held in four weeks.

Prosecutors will be expected to serve the complete brief of evidence by that day - September 21.

Daisley is on bail. She was excused from attending Tuesday's mention.

Daisley is the founder of Smart Cleanse - a 14-day detox program inspired by an American cellular biologist who believes toxins, stress and negative beliefs cause 95 per cent of disease.

"It is not uncommon to lose 5 kilos in the 1st week, and 2-3 kilos in the 2nd week," her website reads.

"That's because of the Metabolic Advantage that this program gives you."

She is also the daughter of racehorse breeder Ross Daisley, best known for sprinter and sire Choisir, which won the Lightning Stakes and Royal Ascot's Golden Jubilee Stakes before standing at a fee of $33,000.
