Barcelona now lead the race for Raphinha after agreeing a €60million deal which will see the Brazilian winger earn £5.2million per year, according to Gerard Romero . The Spanish press say the Catalans giants have struck a late deal with Leeds United which will reportedly see them match Chelsea’s original bid but pay it in instalments over a number of years.
The Blues had a bid accepted earlier in the week but have hit a brick wall in the form of Raphinha’s agent - former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Deco - who had been delaying personal negotiations as the two held out for the Blaugrana’s approach. And now, with Xavi’s side looking close to an agreement with Leeds, a move to the Camp Nou seems the more likely.
Once terms are agreed between the two clubs, the remainder of the deal will likely go smoothly with personal terms already agreed. Those terms will see the 25-year-old receive a significant pay-rise, with reports of a €6million annual salary - which equates to around £5.2million.
