Leeds United have endured something of a quiet transfer window this month, with no senior incomings or outgoings.
Cody Drameh's loan switch to Cardiff City has yielded regular playing time for the U23 right-back, while there have also been suggestions that Crysencio Summerville could head out on loan to 2. Bundesliga club Hamburger SV.
While the German club did hold a serious interest in the player, that move has now reportedly collapsed, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist shared an update earlier today on the Leeds winger's situation, indicating a loan move had collapsed, in connection with the Whites' inability to bring in Takumi Minamino.
It was assumed Minamino - or another attacking player's addition - could have facilitated Summerville's exit.
However, with that unlikely to be the case, Marcelo Bielsa is keen to keep his squad as strong as possible in light of the club's injury crisis throughout the 2021/22 season.
Summerville's status as fourth-choice wide option does suggest his minutes will be limited for the remainder of the season, with Raphinha, Daniel James and Jack Harrison ahead in the pecking order.
The 20-year-old Dutchman has featured in a handful of games for Leeds this season, but managed a cumulative total of just over 200 minutes on the pitch.
It appears increasingly likely that Leeds will not add to their Premier League squad in the remaining hours of the January transfer window.
A pursuit for FC Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson failed earlier this month. He is understood to have been the club's primary incoming target.
Two bids were reportedly lodged, totalling £15 million and £20 million, which have been rebuffed by the Austrian side who take on FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds.
